Prof. Peter Valentin Tomazic

Peter Valentin Tomazic has a major interest in Rhinology and Skull Base Surgery. His special interest in Allergology lies in proteomic profiling of nasal mucus to determine differences in healthy and allergic on a protein basis which my compromise the barrier function of nasal mucus and leads to subsequential inflammation. Ruth’s and his research is the basis of the present project which showed that significant differences in allergic protein was within the protease/antiprotease balance. Furthermore, Peter Valentin is interested in Type 2 Inflammation and eosinophilic pathways as well as IL-5, 4, 13 and IgE expression in nasal polyps.
