Prof. Alkis J. Psaltis
Professor Alkis Psaltis (MD, PhD, FRACS) is an internationally recognised rhinologist and skull base surgeon, and immediate past president of the Australian and New Zealand Rhinological Society. He is Head of the Department of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Adelaide, and a Professor of Surgery at the University of Adelaide.
An elected member of CORLAS, Professor Psaltis appears on Stanford University's "World's Top 2%" scientists list, and in 2024 received the Australian Society of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery Medal for distinguished service to ENT surgery and research.
His scholarly output includes over 270 peer-reviewed articles and 24 book chapters, and he has delivered more than 600 national and international presentations. He co-heads a research programme at the Basil Hetzel Institute investigating the causes and treatments of chronic rhinosinusitis and skull base tumours, and has supervised over 27 PhD and 5 Masters students to completion.
